The venture is a partnership between co-founders Aaron Bergman and Marc Rankin and Troon, which will manage all non-corporate employees, assist with procurement including hard goods and apparel, and oversee food-and-beverage operations. The indoor facility will be designed as the largest in the U.S. and will be membership-based, designed to host affordable group instruction in the Golfinity Performance Theater while also accommodating corporate and social events.
Golfinity will open its first indoor golf performance club in Austin, Texas in early 2021. The Golfinity concept is the vision of co-founders Aaron Bergman and Marc Rankin, who have partnered with Troon to manage all non-corporate employees, assist with procurement including hard goods and apparel, and oversee food-and-beverage operations.
Marc Rankin brings experience in golf resorts, real estate and private equity to the venture, and Bergman is an award-winning Class A PGA Professional whose world travels allowed him to bring golf to new communities and inspired his first business, Golf in Schools, an after-school enrichment program and junior golf academy.
Bergman, who has taught golf lessons in nine countries from beginners to elite players, will serve as CEO, while Rankin will focus on facility design, strategic partnerships and national development plans. PGA TOUR professional and Austin resident Dylan Frittelli will also serve as a Golfinity ambassador and partner.
Golfinity facilities will focus on growing the game through quality instruction and game- improvement techniques for all levels of golfers, including families and kids. Golfinity will provide the information, tools, and coaching necessary for golfers to reach their maximum potential in a safe, family-friendly environment. The facility, programming, and culture are all designed around creating positive golf experiences, skill development and fun.
The indoor golf facility in Austin, the largest in the U.S., will be membership-based and the first of its kind to specifically host affordable group instruction in its Golfinity Performance Theater, while also accommodating corporate and social events. Golfinity will include 22 state-of-the-art simulation suites for lessons, self-practice or leisure play. Members will have use of swing bays/simulators of varying sizes and technologies (including Trackman, Full Swing, Foresight and Uneekor) to work on their game as well as an indoor putting lab, and an outdoor putting green and a chipping area. The facility will also include full food-and-beverage operations.
The new Golfinity performance club will have two main membership levels, both of which will include access to a customized learning plan; a proprietary booking system for scheduling bay reservations and lessons; members-only lounge access; discounts on merchandise and equipment; discounts on party and group-event bookings; member seminars, workshops; and more.
The unique Golfinity app and software platform have been designed around the Golfinity Skills Development Experience (SDX), a tool for golfers of all ages to enhance both skills and engagement. Golfinity’s dynamic club-focused teaching model, delivered through world-class coaching, will empower students to own their improvement at each stage of development.
“Teaching and growing golf is my passion,” said Bergman. “I have witnessed its power to enrich lives and connect people across class and cultures. Golfinity has a unique opportunity to remove entry barriers to the game and reach a much wider audience.
“A second part of our vision is to build community in an environment that encourages skill development and lifelong enjoyment,” Bergman added. “That’s a mission I’m proud to be a part of.”
Added Bruce Glasco, Troon’s Chief Operating Officer: “Golfinity is family-friendly, welcoming, convenient, not weather or sunlight-dependent, and affordable for golfers to practice, play and learn. Troon is excited to partner with Golfinity and looks forward to helping open additional Golfinity performance clubs as they expand into new markets across the country in the future.”
