A three-alarm fire ripped through the clubhouse at Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading, Mass. No injuries were reported, but the clubhouse, which dates back to the 1800s, is believed to be a complete loss.
A three-alarm fire tore through Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading, Mass. during the early morning April 17, WCVB reported. Flames could be seen shooting out of a building. An off-duty police officer spotted the fire and called officials.
NBC 10 out of Boston reported that firefighters have contained a fire that broke out in the clubhouse, which has been standing since its inception in the late 1800s. The building housed a restaurant, locker rooms and offices, members said.

Mutual aid arrived on scene, including from Saugus, Wakefield and Woburn, to help put out the fire, which started around 4 a.m., NBC 10 reported. The building is believed to be a total loss.
No injuries were reported.
Meadow Brook, a private members-only club, was established in 1898. In addition to a nine-hole golf course, the club has a six-lane pool, and both clay and asphalt tennis courts.
