Golfers will find a handful of improvements at the Reading (Pa.) Country Club this summer.
Exeter Township, which owns the course, is spending about $820,000 to replace two bridges and install an automatic irrigation system, reports the Reading Eagle.
In addition to saving time and water, the new irrigation system will improve the condition of the greens, Director of golf Tom Morgan told the paper. The system should be in place by early June and it will have automatic sprinkler heads run by a centralized computer.
Work on the new bridges at the eighth and 15th holes is already under way and should be completed soon. During the project, seven holes have been closed.
