Director of Tennis, Aaron Krickstein, offers members tips for red clay play.
St. Andrews Country Club, Boca Raton, Fla., recently imported European red clay directly from Italy to provide their members with an unforgettable tennis experience.
Aaron Krickstein, Director of Tennis at St. Andrews CC said, “We are very pleased that our own red clay court, similar to those seen at the French Open and Monte Carlo, is the first one installed at a club in our area. This unique court provides a somewhat different type of tennis experience, marked by a high, true bounce, slower overall play compared to a standard green court, increased importance and use of the drop shot, and tennis socks that get a little red. We have received very positive feedback and good reviews from our members and their guests who have taken advantage of the availability of this court.”
Earlier this year, St. Andrews Country Club hosted a star-studded professional tennis exhibition featuring Krickstein, a nine-time ATP tour titlist, formerly ranked sixth in the world, who was joined by fellow ATP superstars including Mark Philippoussis, Jimmy Arias and Mikael Pernfors.
“The addition of a red clay court as a follow up to our annual professional tennis exhibition reinforces our commitment to tennis,” Craig D. Martin, St. Andrews Country Club Chief Operating Officer and General Manager added.
