Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Ill. has opened a new clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and lounge for its featured golf course, The General.
The General’s new clubhouse includes the Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289, a completely new restaurant with both public and private dining rooms and an outdoor terrace that seats up to 45 people. The venue features a cantilever deck that overlooks the 10th fairway and the 18th green of The General golf course, as well as panoramic views of The Galena Territory.
Lounge 289, named after the distance between the highest and lowest tee boxes of the golf course, has an upper lounge area and lower lounge area with four glass garage doors that can be opened during good weather.
Locally sourced brews and spirits grace the bar menu, including the nationally recognized favorite, Blaum Brothers bourbon, that is produced just a few miles from the resort. The menu also includes locally sourced foods and ingredients from nearby purveyors and farms.
Old menu favorites have been combined with the fresh new menu, prepared with new state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. From light lunches to wood-fired favorites, indulgent dinner entrées and vegan offerings, there is something for every palate.
“The completion of this clubhouse, restaurant and lounge elevates the entire golfing experience at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa,” said Ryan Brown, the property’s Director of Golf.
“We have flipped our nines so guests of Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289 can dine and cheer golfers on as they approach the clubhouse.” Brown added. “As for our golfers, they now have a picturesque finishing hole that’s only steps away from unwinding on the newly renovated deck.”
