Eagle Crest Acquisition Group purchased the Redmond, Ore., property, which will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, based in Plano, Texas. The resort includes a 100-room Holiday Inn Resort hotel, meeting space, three golf courses, two clubhouses and three athletic centers.
Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond, Ore., has been sold for $12 million, the Bend, Ore., Bulletin reported.
The new owner, Eagle Crest Acquisition Group, shares its address with KDG Capital LLC in Tampa, Fla. The resort will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, based in Plano, Texas, an Aimbridge spokeswoman said. Representatives of Aimbridge and previous owner-manager Northview Hotel Group couldn’t be reached by the Bulletin for further comment.
Northview Senior Vice President Scott Pickert acknowledged in January that Eagle Crest was up for sale, which C&RB reported at the time.
Eagle Crest is a residential community and destination resort that was developed in the 1980s along the Deschutes River west of Redmond. “Eagle Crest is a huge partner with Redmond,” said Eric Sande, director of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce.
It’s the largest conference and lodging facility near Redmond, and it’s the resort that’s most convenient for people attending big events at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center, Sande said.
The resort includes a 100-room Holiday Inn Resort hotel, meeting space, three golf courses, two clubhouses and three athletic centers. Golf club members are aware of the transition but haven’t received any official communication, the Bulletin reported.
“I think most everybody’s hoping the golf facilities get a little bit more attention,” said Gregory Pluchos, a golfer who has lived in the community since 2013.
In particular, the cart paths and sand traps at the Ridge Course, one of two championship courses, need repair, he said. “They’re nice. Don’t get me wrong,” he said. “It needs some attention to bring it back up to what we’ve grown to expect here.”
Northview invested $3 million in renovations at Eagle Crest and added the Aerie Cafe in 2012, according to the archives of the Redmond Spokesman. It’s unclear whether Aimbridge will oversee any upgrades under the new owner, the Bulletin reported.
Eagle Crest is one of three Oregon resorts that Northview acquired in November 2010 from Jeld-Wen, a window and door manufacturer formerly headquartered in Klamath Falls. Northview still owns Brasada Ranch northwest of Bend and is not looking to sell that property, the Bulletin reported.
