Media personality Star Jones collaborated with the organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women for an event at the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. property that raised $4,000 through a wine-basket raffle; club members also donated business attire and accessories.
The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. recently hosted a luncheon to benefit Dress for Success, an organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life.
The event at Mirasol, which included keynote addresses by Star Jones, the attorney and media personality, and Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success, raised $4,000 through a wine-basket raffle, and Mirasol members also donated business attire and accessories to be used by the organization’s Palm Beach chapter. Diane Wilde, director of Dress for Success of the Palm Beaches, was on hand to accept the donations.
“I have been a member at Mirasol for years, and knew that a collaboration between our generous residents and the Dress for Success organization would be a success,” said Debra Kelly-Ennis, a Board member of Dress for Success, after the event.
“It was our pleasure for Mirasol to be able to collaborate with Mrs. Kelly-Ennis and the local and national Dress for Success chapters to spread the word about this worthy organization throughout our community,” added Matt Lambert, General Manager and COO of The Country Club at Mirasol. “The speeches given by Ms. Jones and Ms. Gordon were truly inspiring and after the luncheon, our members were eagerly asking what more they could do to help. ”
Dress for Success programs are designed to help women achieve financial independence by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home and community. The organization strives to help disadvantaged women find and maintain employment, health and wellness, along with self-defined financial and professional success.
