The Coral Gables, Fla. property will be part of the management firm’s Troon Privé division. Established in 1990, Deering Bay features an Arnold Palmer-designed bayfront golf course and three private, deep-water marinas.
Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla. has selected Troon as its management firm. Deering Bay will be managed by Troon Privé, the private-club operating division of Troon.
Established in 1990, Deering Bay is a private, member-owned club located on the southern tip of Coral Gables on the shores of Biscayne Bay. Deering Bay features South Florida’s only Arnold Palmer-designed, bayfront golf course, a par-71, 6,740-yard configuration that is laid out through mangrove forests and along scenic waterways.
Deering Bay’s 30,000-sq. ft., Mediterranean architecture-inspired clubhouse includes two dining options as well as a patio terrace for al fresco dining. In addition to dining and golf facilities, members and guests enjoy seven Har-Tru clay tennis courts, a fitness center, yoga studio, junior Olympic-sized pool and social events for all ages.
Within walking distance of the clubhouse are three private, deep-water marinas offering dockage space for vessels from 25 to 120 feet in length.
“We are excited to enter into this partnership with Troon,” said David Baron, Deering Bay’s Board President. “We spoke with a number of other private clubs around the country that have had great success working with Troon. We look forward to reaping the benefits of their experience in operating private clubs.
“In addition to Troon’s expertise in golf and dining operations, Deering Bay members are now eligible to participate in the Troon Privé Privilege program which gives our members access to other Troon-managed private clubs around the world,” Baron added.
“Deering Bay is a spectacular private club with a storied history,” said Ryan Walls, President of Troon Privé. “The golf course, clubhouse and yacht club are all gorgeous. The Troon Privé team will now look to further elevate Deering Bay’s service levels, agronomy standards and overall club operations.”
