Coyote Ridge, in Carrollton, Texas, was featured as C+RB’s February 2020 cover story. Lakeshore Y&CC, in Cicero, N.Y., has a 160-year history. It plans to develop the land adjacent to its golf course alongside Oneida Lake by adding residential opportunities, mixed-use commercial space, a 200-key boutique hotel, and significantly enhancing its marina.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, a semi-private club with 18 holes of golf in Carrollton, Texas, just north of Dallas, has selected Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee club operations division of Troon, to manage its golf, agronomy, restaurant and club operations.
Coyote Ridge was featured as the cover story in the February 2020 issue of Club + Resort Business (https://clubandresortbusiness.com/finding-new-competitive-edges-at-coyote-ridge-gc/).
The club originally opened for play in 1999 and has a George Williams-designed golf course. In 2005, the Sam Moon Group purchased and renovated the golf course. Enhancements included bunker renovations, the addition of 1,000-plus trees and new tee boxes, which helped to lengthen the golf course.
The front nine is an open links-style routing, with water coming into play on six of the nine holes, while the back nine plays within the confines of a former Trinity River gravel quarry. The lavishly landscaped course features natural grasses, blooming seasonal flowers and hundreds of oaks, pecans, and elms. The 7,003-yard, par-72 golf course is considered one of the finest and most challenging in the Dallas Metroplex.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club’s 26,000-sq. ft. clubhouse features a well-appointed golf shop; men’s and women’s locker rooms; two private dining and meeting rooms; The Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 300 guests; and The Grill 19 restaurant and bar, which is open for lunch and dinner while providing guests with beautiful golf course views.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Troon to continue fulfilling our vision for Coyote Ridge,” said club owner Sam Moon. “Troon is the proven leader in club management and the ideal organization to elevate our premier experience to even greater heights.”
Added Mitch Harrell, President of Troon Golf: “Coyote Ridge Golf Club is a stunning property. The golf course and clubhouse are both outstanding. Our team is looking forward to working with the Sam Moon Group and the onsite team to further elevate operations, food and beverage, agronomy and the overall guest experience.”
Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club in Cicero, N.Y. announced that Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will oversee its golf operations, golf course agronomy, membership sales and marketing, and food-and-beverage operations.
Lakeshore Y&CC, located just north of Syracuse, was established in 1860 and is nestled on 150 picturesque acres on the south shore of Oneida Lake. The club’s par-72, 18-hole golf course originally opened for play in 1928 and has since been renovated by architect Stephen Kay.
Lakeshore’s beautiful lakeside clubhouse includes a golf shop, a restaurant and the most picturesque banquet facilities anywhere, providing the ideal setting for weddings, parties and other celebrations.
In addition to golf, Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club members also enjoy other amenities, including a swimming pool complex and a marina offering dockage space for yachts and boats.
“Partnering with Troon is significant as we work to improve all facets of the Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club experience,” said Seamus Lyman, Senior Partner & General Counsel for Hart-Lyman Companies, the club’s owner/occupant.
“We plan to develop the land adjacent to the golf course by adding residential opportunities, mixed-use commercial space, a 200-key boutique hotel and significantly enhancing the marina,” Lyman added.
“Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club is a gorgeous property with an active membership,” said Archie Cart, Troon’s Operations Director. “We’re thrilled to be engaged with this historic club. Our Privé team will look to enhance the service levels and improve the overall member experience.”
