Ownership of the Nogales, Ariz. property had shut down course operations in June, due to a lack of funds to maintain operations during the slower summer months. With the closing in August of Rio Rico (Ariz.) GC, that left the state’s Santa Cruz County with just one operating golf course, at the Tubac (Ariz.) Golf Resort. The Grill at Kino Springs remains closed as the club searches for a new lessee.
The golf course at Kino Springs Golf Club in Nogales, Ariz. has re-opened following a five-month temporary closure, Nogales International reported.
“The crew has been working hard the last couple of months to get the course ready,” said Keith Mundy, the course’s Director of Golf, in a news release. “The fairways have been reseeded and the putting greens are in great condition; everything is ready so players can enjoy a great day of golf.”
The Grill at Kino Springs remains closed as Mundy searches for a new lessee, Nogales International reported, but a snack cart is now available on the course to provide refreshments to players.
Owner Art Martori previously told Nogales International that the course shut down on June 4 due to a lack of funds to maintain operations during the slow summer months. Combined with the closure of the Rio Rico (Ariz.) Golf Club in August, that left Santa Cruz County (Ariz.) with just one operating golf course.
Now, the Kino Springs course joins the one at the Tubac (Ariz.) Golf Resort as one of two operating golf courses in the county, Nogales International reported.
Greens fees at Kino Springs are $37 per person in the morning and $32 after noon, Nogales International reported.
