The project in Ann Arbor, Mich., will replace the current clubhouse with a 23,000-sq. ft. facility that will include banquet space, grill, pro shop, office space, meeting room and a golf cart storage area. The clubhouse is expected to open by spring 2017.
The University of Michigan has begun construction on a new clubhouse for its golf course, the Ann Arbor (Mich.) News reported.
The $15 million project will replace the current clubhouse, which was built in 1950, with a 23,000-sq. ft. facility with a banquet space, grill, pro shop, office space, Letterwinners M Club meeting room and a golf cart storage area, News reported.
Construction is expected to last approximately one year and the new clubhouse should be opened by the spring of 2017. The University of Michigan Regents first approved the clubhouse in July 2014 and reaffirmed their support for the final plans in July 2015.
The main entrance to the golf course will be closed, but the course will remain open during construction, the News reported.
As part of the construction process, there will also be adjustments made to holes one and nine on the golf course and new trees and landscaping improvements will be made, the News reported.
