Updates to the Bonita Springs, Fla., club’s 28,000-sq. ft. clubhouse, which will be complete this fall, include a lighter color palette with warm wood finishes, new furniture, draperies, light fixtures and artwork. The redesign coincides with the renovation of the club’s Jerry Pate-designed championship golf course.
Members returning to The Colony Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla., this fall will be greeted by a clubhouse refreshed with a new, stylishly timeless design.
Updates began this month in the club’s 28,000-sq. ft. clubhouse, including employing a lighter color palette balanced by rich, warm wood finishes, along with new furniture, draperies, lighting fixtures and artwork.
“The team studied the clubhouse’s existing architectural details and assessed natural light patterns,” said Club Manager Jim Iacovino. “Their thoughtful design will redefine spaces to enhance functionality and optimize views of our beautiful water and greens.”
Later this summer, plans include updating the lounges at The Sports Club, which features six Har-Tru tennis courts, tennis shop, fitness equipment, aerobics studio, three spa treatment rooms and a 65-foot pool and spa. A new awning, additional seating and a juice bar will create an improved emphasis on hospitality.
Access to areas of the clubhouse is limited while work is underway, with an estimated completion date scheduled for the beginning of September. The clubhouse redesign is coordinated with renovations to The Colony’s Jerry Pate-designed championship golf course that introduces Platinum Paspalum grass on 18 rebuilt greens and three putting and chipping greens. Project plans also include re-grassing surrounds and restoring bunkers to their original size and scope.
