Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, Lemont, Ill., announced that U.S. Kids Golf has named Kevin Weeks, Professional Golf Association (PGA) Director of Instruction, a Master U.S. Kids Golf Instructor. In addition, Garrett Chaussard, a Cog Hill PGA teaching professional, was named to the Honorable Mention list.
Weeks, 46, a PGA member since 1997, is named a Master U.S. Kids Golf Instructor by virtue of his three previous U.S. Kids Top 50 Instructor awards. He is the only Master Instructor in the state of Illinois. Already one of the most recognized instructors, Kevin is ranked No. 3 on Golf Digest’s 2010 Best Teachers In Your State list, and is a three-time recipient of the Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year award. He works extensively with competitive junior golfers — 63 of his students have gone on to play collegiate golf.
Chaussard, 27, a PGA member since 2009, has been teaching at Cog Hill for the past three years. The 2010 Illinois PGA Assistant Player of the Year, Chaussard continues to compete in local Illinois PGA events, Nationwide and PGA Tour qualifiers. Recently, he played in the PGA National Assistant Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla., finishing T-20. Before coming to Cog Hill, Chaussard played on the Canadian Tour and various mini tours. A 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois, Chaussard also qualified and played in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
