Special interest communities offer club professionals opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with other individuals who are involved and interested in various segments of club management. These groups are available to both Club Management Association of America members, as well as non-members.
The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) launched its new special interest communities, offering club professionals opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with other individuals who are involved and interested in various segments of club management. The Club Wellness Community (CWC) officially launched in January 2023, followed by the Communications Community in February.
These professional groups are available to both CMAA members, as well as non-members. Each community will provide resources, virtual events, and an online networking forum to its subscribers, as well as an annual summit based on the community’s focus. CMAA members may opt-in to subscribe as part of their membership, while non-members will pay an annual subscription.
“Our industry is multi-faceted and club professionals truly benefit from connecting with one another on issues they face in their clubs,” says Jeff Morgan, FASAE, CAE, President and CEO of CMAA. “The Communities will give both our members and industry leaders opportunities to have access to content that is immediately applicable to their current roles.”
Katherine Lord, Director of Community Operations said, “[communities] are a less formal, easily accessible way for people to connect. They don’t have to wait until an annual conference to share with one another, but it will give them stronger bonds and relationships for when they are together in person at national events.”
The Association has plans to introduce additional communities in the near future.
