The Edmond, Okla., property has commenced construction on a multimillion-dollar renovation slated for completion in late spring. Updates will include a new bar and media area, a reinvented grille and lounge, and a covered outdoor patio with a fire pit.
Oak Tree Country Club, a ClubCorp property in Edmond, Okla., has commenced construction on a multimillion-dollar reinvention that will bring a stylish new décor and expanded dining and social features.
The project, slated for completion in late spring, includes:
- New bar and media area — the ideal spot to relax after a round of golf and catch up on the latest news or sporting events
- Reinvented grille and lounge — where members can invite family and friends to dine in style on innovative cuisine
- New covered outdoor patio with fire pit — the perfect al fresco setting to share stories over cocktails and appetizers while taking in the serene golf course view
Recent improvements to the golf area include the completion of greenside bunkers, new signage, and tee-box renovations, plus new tee-line furniture and on-range music on the practice facilities. The club also recently refurbished the fitness center, added all new state-of-the-art Precor and Cybex equipment, and resurfaced the indoor tennis courts in U.S. Open blue.
“These recent renovations come at the perfect time for Oak Tree,” said General Manager Matt Beroth. “These new amenities will bring members more opportunities to gather and entertain family and friends and, as the Oklahoma City metro area continues to grow, no doubt, will further establish Oak Tree as the centerpiece of the community.”
“Oak Tree members have always taken pride in the club and are looking forward to the renovations taking place to restore it to one of Oklahoma’s premier clubs,” said John Hood, chairman of the club’s board of governors. “The members are excited about these changes and being part of the new look at Oak Tree.”
In addition to the 65,000-sq. ft. clubhouse, amenities include a swimming pool, children’s wading pool, and a 75,000-sq. ft. sports facility with six indoor tennis courts, six outdoor tennis courts, an indoor jogging track, fitness center, aerobics studio, racquetball court, basketball court, and additional locker rooms decked with saunas and whirlpools.
Located approximately 15 miles north of Oklahoma City, Oak Tree Country Club is the only private club in the metro area featuring 36 holes of golf. The East Course and West Course, designed by Pete Dye, both earned spots on the Golf Digest 2013 Top 10 “Best in State” ranking. The East Course will serve as the site of the 2014 Conference USA’s Men’s Golf Championships April 27-29 as well as, for the 29th consecutive year, the Oklahoma Open August 22-24, 2014.
