The transition marks the end of the management firm’s 20-year lease of the semi-private Corolla, N.C. property that features a Rees Jones-designed golf course and the open-to-the-public Hunt Club Tavern. “Having full ownership means we can make long-term investments that benefit everyone that weren’t feasible with a lease structure,” said John Cegielski, ClubCorp’s Regional VP for its Atlantic region. As the first part of that strategy, plans are being finalized for more than $850,000 in capital spending in 2022.
ClubCorp officially assumed full ownership of The Currituck Club in Corolla, N.C. at the end of 2021, The Outer Banks Voice reported, ending its 20-year lease of the property.
ClubCorp has operated the club over twenty years, and with ownership now in place, it will now move forward with a host of improvements and upgrades, The Outer Banks Voice reported. Plans are being finalized with more than $850,000 in capital investment planned for 2022.
“The new ownership structure enables an even brighter future for the members of this great club,” said John Cegielski, ClubCorp’s Regional Vice President for its Atlantic region “Having full ownership means we can make long-term investments that benefit everyone that weren’t feasible with a lease structure.
“The Club delivers an exceptional experience today, and our long-term vision is to create an experience that has our members and guests raving,” Cegielski added.
The semi-private club on the shores of Currituck Sound features an 18-hole golf course designed by Rees Jonres and the Hunt Club Tavern, which offers family-oriented casual dining and is open to the public.
Residents of the surrounding Currituck Club community enjoy seven tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a kids’ playground, fitness center, bike trails, lawn games, a beach shuttle, and more.
