Recent industry hires and promotions include new General Managers at Sahalee CC in Sammamish, Wash. and Cypress Landing GC in Chocowinty, N.C., plus a new Executive Chef/Director of Culinary Arts at The Club at Mediterra in Naples, Fla. and a new Head Golf Professional at Cleveland CC in Shelby, N.C.
Executive Manager Judy Donnelly celebrates 40 years at the Women’s University Club in Seattle. Donnelly began at the club in 1980 as receptionist and quickly moved into the accounting office, where she worked for 14 years. When the Board decided to bring the newsletter and graphic design projects in-house, she moved to the Publications position while continuing to overseeing the office staff. After six years, she became the Food-and-Beverage Assistant Manager. She became Executive Manager in 2006 when Clint Prescott left the club. “I never dreamed or imagined that September 1980 interview would lead me to a lifetime career of growth and opportunities at the Women’s University Club,” Donnelly said.

Thomas P. “Tom” Sullivan, Head Golf Professional of Wyantenuck Country Club in Great Barrington, Mass. was killed October 7 when a violent storm blew through the Berkshires. Sullivan was driving throughout the course to make sure everyone had left safely after he sounded the weather warning horn. As Sullivan drove his golf cart down an access road, a tree fell and killed him, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported. Sullivan was 71 years old and, according to his brother Paul, he planned to retire on November 1.
