Club People on the Move: July 24-Aug. 6

Recent industry hires and promotions include new General Managers at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., and Windsor in Vero Beach, Fla.; a new Director of Agronomy at 21 Golf Club in Aiken County, S.C.; new Executive Chef at Addison Reserve Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla.; new Director of Membership & Communications at Loblolly in Hobe Sound, Fla.; and a new Membership and Marketing Director at Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota, Fla.

St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., named Marius Ilie as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, beginning November 1. Ilie was most recently General Manager/COO at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury, N.Y.

Windsor in Vero Beach, Fla., Luke O’Boyle as General Manager. O’Boyle most recently served as General Manager / CEO of the Chevy Chase (Md.) Club.

Robin Boretti, Director of Golf at The Club at Ibis, has been honored with the Bill Strausbaugh Award—becoming the first woman ever to receive this prestigious recognition. The award, presented by South Florida PGA Southeast Chapter, acknowledges PGA Professionals who have made exceptional contributions to mentoring fellow PGA members, enhancing career opportunities, and serving their communities with dedication and leadership.

PGA of America Golf Professional Blaine Seitz, Owner and Director of Instruction of TourShotGolf, and Master Club Fitter at 2nd Swing within the PGA of America Coaching Center in Frisco, Texas, earned PGA Master Professional Status, the highest education designation available within the Association. Seitz was previously a PGA Assistant Golf Professional at The Suburban Club of Baltimore in Pikesville, Md., before becoming a PGA Teaching Professional at The Golf Club of Georgia, in Alpharetta, Ga.

21 Golf Club in Aiken County, S.C., named Jordan Spitler as Director of Agronomy. Spitler, whose career has included posts at Augusta National Golf Club, Secession Golf Club, and Eagle Point Golf Club, was selected for the role following a nationwide search led by Bob Ford and his team at GBN.

The Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame will enshrine Dr. Bruce Martin and Arthur L. “Max” Morgan Jr. on September 24. Martin, a longtime plant pathologist with Clemson University, has spent more than three decades helping golf courses thrive through the industry’s turfgrass challenges. Morgan held superintendent roles at Eagle Nest, Waterway Hills, Marsh Harbour and Myrtlewood before taking a position at Myrtle Beach National in 1999. In 2003, he took on the responsibility for the nine additional courses under the same ownership.

Addison Reserve Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla., named Yann Chupin, a Certified Master Chef of France, as Executive Chef. Chupin was most recently Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota (Fla.).

Loblolly in Hobe Sound, Fla., named Becky Collison as Director of Membership & Communications. Collison was most recently Director of Marketing & Communications at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota, Fla., named Monica Carruth as Membership and Marketing Director. Her background includes extensive work in fundraising and relationship-building, most recently serving with The Salvation Army in Manatee County.

Audubon International named Michael Williams to its Board of Directors. Williams is a Washington, D.C.-based journalist, communications expert, and speaker.

Supplier News

Peacock + Lewis named John Lyberger as President / Chief Operating Officer. Lyberger has held key positions at some of the nation’s top clubs, including Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., and the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla.

Edward Don & Company named George Federighi as Senior Designer and Business Development Leader for its DON BUILD division. Federighi was most recently with TriMark Federighi Design.
