Golf & Country Club; a new Head Golf Professional at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale, Colo.; and the first-ever female Board President elected at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa.

The Montecito Club in Santa Barbara, Calif. named Mike Orosco as General Manager. Orosco joined the Montecito Club in March 2021 with an extensive history in private club hospitality and membership development. Before joining the team, he served as Clubhouse Manager at Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles.
The Country Club of Paducah (Ky.) named Michael J. Methot, CCM as General Manager. Previously, Methot was Clubhouse Manager at the Saddle & Cycle Club, Chicago, Ill. and Club Manager, Country Club of Asheville (N.C.).
The Stockton (Calif.) Golf & Country Club named Rick Schultz, PGA, CCM, as General Manager. Schultz was previously General Manager/COO of Woodbridge (Calif.) Golf & Country Club.
The Sherwood Country Club in Yorba Linda, Calif. named Brad Shupe as COO/General Manager. Shupe was previously General Manager of Rancho Santa Fe (Calif.) Golf Club.
The Woodlands Course at Whittaker in New Buffalo, Mich. named Josh Schlump as General Manager. Most recently, Schlump was employed by Forest Dunes Golf Club in Roscommon, Mich. Previously, Schlump held key roles at Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club and Cedar Chase Golf Club in Cedar Springs, Mich.
Amara Cay Resort in Islamorada, Fla. named Lauren Clevenger as General Manager of the 110-room hotel on Upper Matecumbe Key. Before becoming General Manager, Clevenger worked her way through the Islamorada Resort Collection as a Front Desk Guest Services Manager and Events Coordinator.
Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest, Ill. named Patrick O’Donoghue as General Manager. In addition to managing the city-owned municipal golf course, O’Donoghue will oversee the food-and-beverage operation at Forest Park Beach, which is also owned by the city.
River Valley Ranch in Carbondale, Colo. named Remington Post, PGA, as Head Golf Professional. Post was previously Director of Golf at Outdoor Resort Palm Springs in Cathedral City, Calif.
TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn. named Rob Akins as Golf Instructor. Before joining TPC Southwind, Akins was the Director of Instruction at Spring Creek Ranch.
Teaching Professional Erik Schjolberg, who teaches at both McCormick Ranch Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz. and at Quailwood Greens Golf Course near Prescott, Ariz., has joined the A.I.-powered PerfectMotion platform.
Sunnyside Golf & Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa, recently elected Christa Miehe as the club’s first-ever female Board President. Miehe and her family have been Sunnyside members for 10 years. She joined the club’s board in 2018 as a member of the membership committee, before moving into the role of board secretary in 2020.
The Florida Chapter of the Club Management Association of America awarded 18 education scholarships to deserving chapter members. The purpose of the scholarships is to provide tuition support to members interested in pursuing the Certified Club Manager (“CCM”) designation. The Golf Course Superintendents Association of New England (GCSANE) awarded Kip Tyler, retired Golf Course Superintendent at Salem (Mass.) Country Club after 38 years, with its Distinguished Service Award. C+RB featured Tyler in a 2019 Super in the Spotlight article.
KemperSports promoted Mark Freemott to Executive Vice President of Operations. Since joining the KemperSports family as an intern in 1997, Freemott has held nearly every position within the golf management business, including roles as banquet manager, food and beverage director, director of hotel operations and general manager across multiple KemperSports-managed properties.
Indigo Golf Partners announced the winners of the company’s annual national and regional awards. In its 32nd year operating, Indigo Golf Partners honored exceptional team members and facilities, including: Indigo Future National Award Winner: Monty Duncan of Brentwood Golf Course in Jacksonville, Fla.; Superintendent of the Year: Jerry Cotton from Joe Louis “The Champ” Golf Course in Riverdale, Ill.; General Manager of the Year: David Peru of Kenton County Golf Courses in Independence, Ky.; Facility Top Performer: Alhambra (Calif.) Golf Course; Facility of the Year: Delcastle Golf Club in Wilmington, Del.; and Virginia Support Office ACE Award: Scott Kravitz, Marketing Manager.
