Recent industry hires and promotions include new General Managers at Manchester (Vt.) Country Club, TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nev., and Apache Wells Country Club in Mesa, Ariz.; and new Head Golf Professionals at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, Colo., Preserve Golf Club in Carmel, Calif., and Seminole Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla.

The Manchester (Vt.) Country Club named a new General Manager, Golf and Tennis Professionals, and Executive Chef. Prior to joining Manchester, Michelle Dougherty, CCM, General Manager / COO, was General Manager at Brookstone Events and Golf in New Hampshire. She also held positions as Assistant General Manager at The Quechee (Vt.) Club; Clubhouse Manager at the Nashua (N.H.) Country Club; Director of Operations at The Lanam Club in Andover, Mass.; and Clubhouse Manager at The Concord (Mass.) Country Club. Peter Weatherby, PGA, was named Head Golf Professional at Manchester. He was most recently Assistant Professional at The Ekwanok Country Club. He also worked at the Jupiter Island Club in Fla., The Misquamicut (R.I.) Club, and the Old Sandwich (Mass.) Golf Club. Executive Chef David Dukeshire, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, was most recently at The Quechee (Vt.) Club in a variety of roles. Keith Baisden, a PTR Professional, USPTA Elite Professional, is Manchester’s new Head Tennis Professional. He began his coaching career 10 years ago at a small private academy in Napa Valley Calif.
TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nev. named Brian Hawthorne as General Manager. Hawthorne was most recently Director of Golf Operations at Wynn Las Vegas.
Apache Wells Country Club in Mesa, Ariz. named Jay Larscheid as General Manager. The Southwest PGA Section President, Larscheid has served as General Manager at several Arizona golf courses over the past 25 years – including Longbow Golf Club, also in Mesa.
Cherry Hills Country Club in in Denver, Colo. named Andrew Shuck, PGA as PGA Head Golf Professional. Prior to assuming this new role, Shuck spent the past 20 years successfully serving in multiple PGA Head Golf Professional positions including: PGA Head Golf Professional at Charlotte Country Club (2011-’21); PGA Head Golf Professional at the Ocean Forest Golf Club, in Sea Island, Ga. (2006-’11); and PGA Head Golf Professional at McArthur Golf Club, in Hobe Sound, Fla. (2001-’06).
The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel, Calif. named Riley Ramones as Head Golf Professional. Ramones most recently served as First Assistant Professional at the Cypress Point Club and prior to that at Pebble Beach Golf Links, both in nearby Pebble Beach. He replaces Head Professional Brian Sleeman, who is leaving to become Head Golf Professional at Orchard Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
The King Kamehameha Golf Club in Maui, Hawaii promoted Guy Nishimura to Head Golf Professional. Nishimura has been with The King Kamehameha Golf Club since 2015 as an Assistant Golf Professional.
Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, N.J. named Tony Perla as Director of Instruction for the Forsgate Golf Academy. Prior to his staff appointment at Forsgate, Perla was the Golf Teaching Professional & Junior Golf Coordinator at New Jersey’s Canoe Brook Country Club. His resume also includes a golf and teaching professional position at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
The Sea Pines Resort named John Farrell as Director of Sports Operations, effective May 14. Farrell, the resort’s long-time Director of Golf, will take over for Cary Corbitt, who announced his retirement after 44 years at Sea Pines.
Seminole Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla. has named Matt Cahill as Head PGA Professional, effective June 1 when Bob Ford will officially retire. Ford has overseen Seminole’s golf operations since 2000. He stepped away from famed Oakmont Country Club in 2016 after working at the Pennsylvania club for 37 years, splitting his time at both clubs for 16 years. Cahill has been the Assistant Golf Professional at Seminole since 2013. Prior to that, he was Assistant Golf Professional at The Kittansett Club in Marion, Mass. and was a Golf Shop Assistant at Oakmont Country Club earlier in his career. Cahill becomes the ninth Head Golf Professional in Seminole’s 92-year history, joining a list that includes Masters champion Claude Harmon, Henry Picard and Ford.
Philadelphia (Pa.) Country Club (PCC) promoted MIssi Johnson to Clubhouse Manager. Johnson joined the club in 2011 as Executive Assistant to the General Manager and assumed the role as Communications Manager in 2014. The club also promoted Kristin Mycek to Private Dining and Member Events Manager. Mycek was most recently the Private Dining and Catering Coordinator. Lastly, PCC promoted Jamie Weisberg to Service Director. Weisberg was most recently Food & Beverage Operations Manager at the club.
Naperville (Ill.) Country Club caddie Chris Goff, a senior at Naperville North High School, was awarded a prestigious Evans Scholarship from the Western Golf Association. The Evans Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition, and housing scholarship awarded to deserving caddies that meets the criteria of academic excellence, caddie record, leadership and character, and financial need. Goff, who will be attending The Ohio State University, is the eighth Naperville Country Club caddie to receive the Evans Scholarship in the last decade. Audrey Cahill, a sophomore at Miami of Ohio, and Justin Griffith, a sophomore at Northwestern, are two of the most recent.
KemperSports promoted Jon Cheshire to Vice President of Operations for the company’s northeast region. Cheshire joined KemperSports in January 2020 as a Regional Operations Executive, overseeing the company’s northeast portfolio.
Kopplin Kuebler & Wallace named Hannah Eanes, CMP, PCM, CDMP as a Marketing & Operations Specialist. Eanes was most recently with Professional Club Marketing Association (PCMA). Prior to PCMA, she worked at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa and served as assistant clubhouse manager before being promoted to director of member relations at Dallas Country Club in Dallas, Texas.
Omni Hotels & Resorts appointed Mary Bennett as Vice President of Marketing and Digital Strategy. Prior to joining Omni, Bennett most recently served as Vice President, Brand, Marketing & Digital at Marriott International.
