Recent industry hires and promotions include new General Managers at Houston (Texas) Country Club, The Woodlands Club in Falmouth, Maine and Bear’s Paw Country Club in Naples, Fla.; a new Director of Operations at Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Va.; and Directors of Golf at Keswick Hall in Charlottesville, Va. and Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect, Ky.

The Houston Country Club named Mark Bado, MCM, CCE as General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. Bado, a past recipient of the Excellence in Club Management award, was most recently General Manager of Myers Park (N.C.) Country Club. He has also been General Manager/COO of Kansas CIty Country Club in Mission Hills, Kansas; General Manager/COO of the Country Club of Peoria in Peoria Heights, Ill.; and General Manager/COO of Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, Pa.
The Woodlands Club in Falmouth, Maine named Robert Schlingmann, CCM, CCE, CAM, as General Manager/Chief Operating Officer.
Long Cove Community on Cedar Creek Lake in Malakoff, Texas named Greg Dick as General Manager.
Bear’s Paw Country Club in Naples, Fla. named Sean Redding as General Manager/ Chief Operating Officer. Redding was most recently Clubhouse Manager at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country, Mo. He’s also been Director of Food and Beverage at both Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Lake Worth Beach, Fla. and Windstar on Naples Bay in Naples, Fla.
Keswick Hall in Charlottesville, Va. named Rob McNamara as General Manager and Director of Golf. McNamara was most recently Head PGA Professional at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville. He was named 2018 “Professional of the Year” for the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA (MAPGA), which also honored him as 2001 and 2008 “Merchandiser of the Year” in the Private Category.
Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, N.Y., which is now under the management of Heritage Golf Group, named a new management team, including General Manager John Cavaliere and Head Golf Professional Nate Oberhofer, both of whom were most recently at Ancala Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Longtime Knollwood Head Professional Bob Miller will become Professional Emeritus at the club.
Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect, Ky. named Ryan Sanders as Director of Golf. Sanders was most recently at Quail West Golf & Country Club in Naples, Fla. He has also worked at Linville Ridge Country Club in Linville, N.C.; The Vineyard Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; and at The Camargo Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Summit Club at Armonk (N.Y.) named Colin Igoe, PGA as Director of Golf. Igoe was most recently was Director of Golf & Retail at Trump Golf Links Ferry Point in New York.
Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Va. named Elizabeth Beebe as Director of Operations. Since 2018, Beebe has served as Director of Food & Beverage at Ford’s Colony. She was promoted to Food & Beverage Regional Field Specialist in 2019. Beebe began her career with ClubCorp in 2012 as Private Events Director at Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, Va., where she was promoted to Service Director in 2015.
The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne, Texas named Stu Rowland as Director of Agronomy. Rowland was most recently Director of Agronomy and Grounds at The Madison Club in La Quinta, Calif.
Berkeley Hall Club in Bluffton, S.C. named Jeff Dekruif, CCM as Assistant General Manager and CFO. Jeff most recently served as Assistant General Manager & CFO of Blackhawk Country Club outside of San Francisco, Calif.
Desert Highlands in Scottsdale, Ariz. named Robin Scott as Director of Racquet Sports. Scott was most recently at the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club in Dallas, where he focused on the member experience, racquet sports programming, operations and maintenance, and honed his overall hospitality skills.
Shaun C. Lewis, CCM, CEC, PCIII, Assistant General Manager and Executive Chef at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J., has added a new designation to his professional pedigree—Certified Club Manager (CCM). Lewis is in rare company holding both Executive Chef and Certified Club Manager designations. There are only three other people in the United States with these dual credentials. Additionally, he holds a Pro Chef Level Three (PCIII) certificate from the Culinary Institute of America, from where he graduated in 1991.
Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club in Steamboat Springs, Colo. announced that Graham McDaniel will succeed retiring Superintendent John Haller. Haller has been in the position for 27 years—the last 10 with McDaniel as his Assistant Superintendent.
Jordan Miller, CCM, Assistant Manager at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C. attained the designation of Certified Club Manager (CCM) from the Club Management Association of America (CMAA).
The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. named Scott Flexman as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Most recently, Flexman was Complex Director of Sales and Marketing, Caribe Royale Orlando/Buena Vista Suites in Florida. Prior to his role with Caribe Royale, he was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Fontainebleau, Miami Beach (Fla.), Director of Sales and Marketing for Landsdowne Resort in Northern Virginia, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Boca Raton (Fla.) Resort & Club.
GSI Executive Search appointed Richard A. Lareau, CCM, CCE, ECM as Principal. Prior to joining GSI Executive Search, Lareau served 11 years as Club Manager of Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills, Ill; 13 years as GM/COO of the Briar Club in Houston, Texas; and four years as a Club Consultant with The McMahon Group, Inc. He won Excellence in Club Management recognition in 2009 while with The Briar Club.
Oneida Hospitality Group appointed Scott McDaniel as Chief Executive Officer. McDaniel most recently served as President of TriMark United East. Prior to joining trimmer, he served as the EVP North America for American Hotel Register Company.
In Memoriam
Robert “Bob” McMasters, former President of the Golf Association of Michigan and a member of the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame, died February 21 at his home in northern Michigan. He was 86. McMasters began caddying at Red Run Golf Club in Royal Oak, Mich. at age 8 and became the club’s first Evans Scholar for caddies, earning a full scholarship to the University of Michigan. McMasters also was an accomplished player, qualifying 12 times for the Michigan Amateur, in which he was co-medalist twice. He played in six USGA championships, including the U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Senior Amateur, and the U.S. Junior Amateur.
