The 2014 Sally Burns Rambo Scholarships are awarded to female club managers who are furthering their professional development. The LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship also provides financial support to club managers, and includes a mentoring component.
The Club Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship.
Established in 2012 by The Club Foundation with the help of the Club Managers Association of America’s (CMAA) Texas Lone Star Chapter, the Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship honors mentor, role model and pioneer Sally Burns Rambo, CCM, who paved the way for the success of countless club industry leaders.
To honor her memory and the legacy that she created, this scholarship provides financial support to female club managers interested in furthering their professional development. Recipients receive the tuition costs and travel expenses to attend their choice of one of the CMAA’s Business Management Institutes.
The 2014 recipients are:
- Nora Cotter, CCM, University Club of San Francisco, San Francisco, Calif.
- Heather Crutcher, CCM, Fox Den Country Club, Knoxville, Tenn.
- Judith Higgins, CCM, Valley Lo Club, Glenview, Ill.
- Katherine Newton, CCM, Chicago Yacht Club, Chicago, Ill.
The Club Foundation also announced the 2014 recipient of its LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship. The Club Foundation established The LaRocca Family Executive Scholarship in honor of the family’s commitment to professional development and to recognize their continued support of The Club Foundation.
Awarded annually, the 2014 recipient is Larry Marx, CCM, of Diablo Country Club in Diablo, Calif.
This scholarship provides financial support to club managers interested in professional development, as well as helping others achieve their career goals. Recipients receive the tuition costs and travel expenses to attend their choice of one of the elective-level Business Management Institutes presented by the CMAA.
A second mentoring component of this scholarship allows the recipient to designate funds for a manager that they are mentoring to be used for their choice of CMAA dues (both national and chapter), a full registration and travel expenses to attend a CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo or a full registration and travel expenses to attend a CMAA Leadership/Legislative Conference.
