Being centered in the heart of one of America's richest regional cuisines, the club has enjoyed many years of talented chefs and great food. Baton Rouge is influenced by both Cajun and Creole Cuisine. Early in its history, The Baton Rouge Country Club was managed by Swiss and French trained chefs and clubhouse managers. This set the stage for decades of a commitment to great food and service. For generations the club has been the top dining destination for members for both a la carte dining, as well as banquet events. Compared to similar clubs our size, the club's food & beverage usage is much higher than the norm.
The club operates four dining rooms year round in addition to its pool cabana restaurant during the summer months. Its most popular spot, The Oak Terrace, was opened in 2013 following an extensive clubhouse renovation that included a complete build of the main kitchen. The Oak Terrace replaced an old ballroom overlooking the golf course that had been largely underutilized for many years. It is now the main gathering spot for members and their guests.
In addition to a la carte offerings, the club features holiday events throughout the year that often sell out within the first few days reservations become available. These events include: Spring Fling, Easter Brunch, Mother's Day Brunch, Father's Day Brunch, Memorial Day & Independence Day Barbeques, Fall Festival, Thanksgiving Feast, Gingerbread House Decorating Party, Santa Extravaganza, and Christmas Brunch. The club also hosts several wine events throughout the year, as well as prix fixe dinners for Valentine's Day & New Year's Eve.
