Club House History
The Main Clubhouse was built in 2018 and opened at the end of 2018. The indoor and outdoor aquatic center, as well as tennis and pickle ball areas followed in 2019. Since then, the pool deck has been expanded for outdoor dining in a lounge setting by the outdoor bar, which features half of the bar in the water as a Swim Up Pool Bar. Additionally, the early temporary "clubhouse" that was used as a sales office, is now tied in with the entire clubhouse grounds and is used as a guest house as well as for private events. It comfortably sleeps up to 18 or can be rented for private parties, events or showers. It also has quick access to the main clubhouse, adjacent clubhouse pool and pickle ball courts. It has been an excellent addition for members looking to host events in a "comfortable residential setting" --- but not their own homes! In 2020 & 2021, the Club upgraded its outdoor overhead heaters to allow for more events and dining to take place on its expansive dining patio - which also features 2, 8' fire pits, perfect for families and friends to gather around, rocking on Adirondacks. Additionally, in 2021, in an effort to cater to growing number of children events, the club added furnishings and expanded its events offerings in the lower fitness hallway, which features windows at the ground level of the indoor basketball & multi-purpose court. By utilizing this space for events, it allows members to set up 2 or 3 banquet tables, have food and drinks for guests, while allowing kids to use the private access door to go back and forth into the gymnasium, where the Club now owns it's own bounce house! It is also conveniently located next to the four-lane bowling alley where parties, leagues and events take place routinely. In 2022, the Club expanded its pickle and tennis facilities by completing the addition of 6 pickle ball courts and 3 tennis courts for a total of 8 pickle and 6 tennis. Additionally, the tennis expansion includes a private shelter with a bar for league nights, couples parties and more.In Chat's, Chatham's casual grab and go / turn / coffee bar, an unused portion of the corner was completely converted into a coffee & milkshake bar that serves smoothies, lattes, coffee specialty drinks as well as milkshakes for kids. By adding various equipment and building a walk up bar, this made for a great use of the space. Later in 2022 Summer, the club renovated the old milk house that was found on the property when first acquired - estimated from the mid 1800s - restoring this small milk house to be used as a bar for golfers while using the short game area, or simply as they pass through to Hole #10. It's a bit of history and members have enjoyed using.
Separately, its important to note that in 2016, while not located in the Clubhouse, located just off the Pete Dye Course #16, the Club completely renovated and rebuilt an old classic heritage barn that was originally built in the 1830s and was used as a part of the Underground Railroad. During construction, the original wood and peg beams, stone foundation and more were preserved and the exterior aesthetic was brought back to life. This facility can now host 400 guests and is used throughout the year for private parties,, weddings and more. It is truly a beautiful facility and is named after the family that owned it for 6 generations, Lindley Farmstead. We were unsure if we were able to include this but it is definitely a part of our club's events operations and provides a very unique complementary space when planning functions. If we are to include, this facility comprises appx 8000sf and features a lower cellar, main floor and upper balcony, bride and groom rooms, banquet prep kitchen and outdoor patio as well as a covered pergola area for ceremonies on the water.
