Springfield (Pa.) Country Club Inc. and Finley Catering Co Inc. are the targets of a lawsuit filed June 8 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County (Pa.), the Pennsylvania Record reported, that alleges negligence over an incident involving a woman’s fall while she was attending an event at the club.
According to the Record, Linda Boyajian filed the complaint, which contends the club and catering company allowed tablecloths to hang close enough to the ground for people to trip over them. In the suit, Boyajian claims that she was hurt when she slipped and fell after coming into contact with a tablecloth while walking during the event at the club on July 16, 2016.
The lawsuit states that Boyajian suffered fractures that needed surgery, and contends that the club and catering company didn’t exercise sufficient care to ensure the event area was safe. Boyajian is seeking a jury trial and a judgment of at least $50,000, plus costs and interest, the Record reported.
The Record’s report did not include any comment from either the country club or catering company.
Springfield Country Club is an event venue with an 18-hole golf course and on-site restaurant and bar. Overnight accommodations are available at the on-site Courtyard by Marriott hotel.
