| Other items of note | The Philadelphia Country Club provides one of the most beautiful aquatics resort experiences available. A heated six lane Olympic size pool with attached diving well and zero entry well provides an excellent combination of recreational and competitive aquatics opportunities. The zero entry well has three different water features for recreational use, and the diving well provides a separate 25 yard competition course in addition to two (2) one-meter diving boards. A half moon stairwell entry point opposite the zero entry well provides easy accessibility from all ends of the pool. A separate shaded zero entry baby pool with fountains and water features, and a gaga pit provides more recreational space for our youngest members. Personal cabanas ensure a comfortable area to retreat from the sun and cool off on hot days. |
The Pool is a key component in the PCC summer lifestyle. It is the kind of place where a family can spend the day together in an exclusive resort-style environment with extensive food and beverage service. After the renovation completed in 2019, the Pool retained its traditional 50-meter “long course” for competitive and casual lap swimming and added a 25 yard “short course” for the swim team. The Swim Team participates in the Country Club Swim Association (CCSA) swim meets and championships annually in June and July. The depth of the Main Pool ranges from zero entry with water features to 12 feet with two (2) one-meter diving boards. A Wading Pool for small children is located adjacent to the Main Pool. The Pool also offers a wide array of fitness, recreational and swim activities for all ages. The Pool is accompanied by the popular Citrus Tree Restaurant, a fast casual dining service. The Citrus Tree Bar, although adjacent to the Pool, now overlooks the Golf Course and includes a 12 seat full service bar and an adult-only area with relaxing lounge furniture to enjoy a cocktail with fellow Members. Our commitment to service is not limited to food and beverage as we have perhaps the strongest competitive swim coaching staff of any resort facility in the country with collegiate coaches from Villanova, LaSalle, and Bryn Mawr providing top level swim instruction to our swim team and learn to swim participants. Members also have the opportunity to schedule private swim lesson instruction at every level from learn to swim to elite competitive swim technique instruction utilizing video equipment to provide real time visual feedback on performance.
