Wichita, Kan.-based Genesis Health Clubs has added Clayview Country Club in Liberty, Kan. to its portfolio, the Wichita Business Journal reported. The tennis-focused facility is the 60th location for Genesis, and the company’s 16th in the Kansas City metro area.

Featuring indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a fitness area, two indoor pickleball courts and year-round swimming, Genesis said the Clayview acquisition doubles down on tennis, the Business Journal reported.

“We’ve invested heavily in that with our recently remodeled Overland Park and Kansas City Racquet Club locations, but we’ve been looking for a way to bring tennis to North Kansas City, and we’ve found that with Clayview,” Genesis owner and president Rodney Steven II said in a news release.

Clayview has an eight-lane, 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, which features a seasonal, climate-controlled structure for year-round swimming, the Business Journal reported. The club also has eight indoor and four outdoor tennis courts.

Genesis now has 60 sites spread across seven states, including Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Iowa and Florida, the Business Journal reported. Genesis has had a spate of acquisitions locally and nationwide in the last few years, most recently two clubs in The Villages, Fla.

In Kansas City, the company purchased the Onelife Fitness gym in the Kansas City Power & Light District in 2021, the Business Journal reported. This year, it opened a location in the Northland’s One North, which spans about 64 acres.

In the Clayview news release, Genesis said it will continue to “grow, change, innovate, and add new services and locations.”
