The three-month, $700,000 improvement project replaced the greens at the Hernando, Fla. property with TifEagle ultradwarf turfgrass, in addition to a variety of other course improvements. The course reopened for public and member play on August 29, with non-members encouraged to enjoy “Member for a Day” amenities and privileges.
Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club in Hernando, Fla. reopened its Skyview at Terra Vista golf course on August 28 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Skyview Clubhouse that celebrated the completion of a three-month, $700,000 improvement project.
The Skyview at Terra Vista course was closed on May 8th for a renovation project to replace the greens with TifEagle ultradwarf turfgrass. In addition, many of the tee grounds have been enlarged, leveled and re-sodded; bunkers have been redesigned and filled with new bright white sand; the bridge between holes 17 and 18 has been rebuilt; cart paths have been extended; irrigation has been expanded; drainage has been improved; and many of the surrounding trees have been crowned.
“Players can expect the same great course conditioning plus TifEagle greens, which now provide a faster and more consistent game for our players,” said Jimmie Brothers, PGA, Citrus Hills’ Golf Director. “When golfers walk off the course, we want them to immediately call their friends and say ‘You’ve got to come play this course!’ For us, that’s the ultimate goal.”
The course reopened for play to the public and members on August 29th, with Citrus Hills encouraging non-members to consider themselves a “Member for the Day” and also enjoy shopping in the pro shop, dining in the Skyview Restaurant and staying to enjoy the evening happy hour.
