The name change for the Pittsgrove Township, N.J., property, which has a 1,320-person wedding and special-event banquet hall, is part of a “top to bottom” $1 million overhaul planned by a new ownership group that will also lead to the opening of a new-look event center in the spring of 2018.
Centerton Country Club & Event Center in Pittsgrove Township, N.J. has a new ownership team and is planning a complete, $1 million makeover that will include a name change, reported SNJ Today, a publication that covers southern New Jersey.
The venue is planning a “top to bottom” overhaul, SNJ Today reported, according to a media release sent out by the new ownership group, which is led by Ron Gorodesky.
“Centerton Event Center is a true diamond in the rough,” said Gorodesky, who’s been involved with managing the venue since 2011. Planned renovations, he added, would trend towards a “rustic-contemporary” look designed to appeal to today’s wedding and special-event market.
In his 31 years in operations management, SNJ Today reported, Gorodesky has made a name for himself in the region with innovative tactics that have led to successful expansions at popular wedding and special-event locations such as The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, N.J. and the Riverhouse in New Hope, Pa.
The makeover at Centerton won’t be limited to the venue’s physical appearance, SNJ Today reported. To further emphasize the venue’s complete rebranding, Centerton Country Club & Event Center will soon by known as “The Grove at Centerton.” The name is designed to evoke Pittsgrove Township’s “long history as a prosperous farming community,” stated the release sent out by the new owners.
“I am so excited to continue to build and strengthen the relationships that we already have in the area, while also branching out with a fresh look and an even higher standard of service,” said Jennie Morton, Centerton’s Catering Sales manager. “The Grove at Centerton is an exciting step in that direction.”
The new-look event center at Pittsgrove is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2018, SNJ Today reported. Before then, current guests can expect immediate changes to the food-and-beverage options offered by the property.
Godoresky became involved with the management and operation of the property in 2011, after a bank seized control of it when former owners Lou and Kristin Ferretti failed to meet financial obligations.
In addition to a 1,320-person banquet hall, the property includes Centerton Golf Club, which is managed and operated separately.
