Centennial Park GC, an eco-friendly, daily-fee facility in Munster, Ind., will be managed by Billy Casper Golf. KemperSports will manage Mahopac Golf and Beach Club, which dates back to 1893 when Tom Bendelow designed the first six-hole routing.
Billy Casper Golf has been selected to manage Centennial Park Golf Course in Munster, Ind.
Spread across 220 acres of reclaimed landfill, Centennial Park is an eco-friendly, daily-fee facility with an array of amenities ideal for family entertainment. Opened in 2009, its nine-hole, 3,300-yard, par-36 golf course was designed by Tim Nugent and features unique elevation changes, four sets of tees, wide fairways, rugged bunkers and undulated greens. A popular practice facility includes an all-grass driving range and putting green.
“Centennial Park is a remarkable example of environmental responsibility,” said Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “In addition to upholding agronomic best practices, we are laser focused to acquire new golfers, including families, and event planners for incremental revenue and long-term customer value.”
BCG will direct course and property maintenance; marketing, public relations and sales; staffing and training; merchandising; golf instruction; and financial management. BCG was also tapped to manage Centennial Park’s “The View” restaurant and banquet facility. Engaging a broader audience through aggressive marketing campaigns and raising satisfaction via best-in-class food-and-beverage services are poised to make the park the area’s top recreational choice.
Open for lunch and early dinners, The View treats golfers and park-goers to a well-rounded menu in a casual setting. The stunning banquet hall is perfect for weddings and social functions, and its grand ballroom accommodates up to 210 guests and overlooks Maynard Lake.
KemperSports has been retained to manage the Mahopac (N.Y.) Golf and Beach Club. Located 55 miles north of New York City in Putnam County, the club has a rich history of more than 100 years of exceptional club experiences for its members.
The course, which dates back to 1893 when famed architect Tom Bendelow designed the first 6-hole routing on the east shore of Lake Mahopac, enjoys a reputation as one of the top courses in the region. After the popularity of the original routing, the club moved to its current location in 1900 and introduced the 18-hole Devereux Emmet-designed course in 1913.
The par-70, 6,523-yard golf course routes through tree-lined fairways with strategically-placed bunkers. The historic layout prides itself on challenging the low handicap golfers while also remaining playable for beginning golfers. The course also includes a practice facility with grassed tees, chipping practice green and large practice green that emulates putts that will be seen on the 18-hole course.
In addition to golf, the club includes a beach club along the sandy beach on Lake Mahopac as well as easy lake access for boating and fishing. The full-service clubhouse includes multiple dining options, including a ballroom with seating for up to 120 guests.
“Mahopac Golf and Beach Club is widely recognized as one of the top private club in the region,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with membership to enhance their experience and ensure the long-term health of the club.”
