Expected to be complete by late October, the project at the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., property’s Sunrise Golf Course will include a complete bunker renovation, the expansion of tee boxes, the replacement of fairway grass and golf cart paths, and the addition of drainage to the rough areas.
An extensive enhancement project has begun on the Sunrise Golf Course at The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and will take place until late October 2017, weather permitting.
The improvements, which will be completed without member assessment, will include a complete bunker renovation, the expansion of tee boxes, the replacement of fairway grass and golf cart paths, and the addition of drainage to the rough areas.
“Our ten-member Golf Course Planning Committee was tasked with determining how to maintain our award-winning courses at the highest level while enhancing member enjoyment,” said Director of Golf Course Maintenance Michael Thomas. “The fact that the committee was comprised of men and women with broad ranges of playing abilities and age spectrums will ensure that all golfers will benefit from the enhancements.”
Also approved by members is a complete renovation of the club’s Sunset Golf Course, which will follow a similar timeline in 2018. The extensive golf practice facility was fully renovated in October 2015, and Mirasol opened enhanced clubhouse and state-of-the-art tennis, fitness, spa, and aquatics facilities in 2016 following a nearly $40 million renovation project.
“We are thrilled to see how strongly the membership expressed their support for the golf course renovation plan,” said Board of Directors President Tobi D’Andrea. “This plan was the result of several years of diligent work by a group of members, our management team, and the golf course architects. With this investment, we will be assured that our golf courses will continue to be source of membership pride, enjoyment, and among Mirasol’s most valuable assets.”
