The CC of Louisiana Plans $8.5M Renovation

By Brandi Shaffer | November 28, 2017

The Baton Rouge, La., property will dedicate $1.5 million to updating the golf course, while the remainder of funds will upgrade the clubhouse, five dining venues, tennis, and fitness facilities. Construction on the multi-phase project is expected to begin early next year.

The Country Club of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, La., will undergo an $8.5 million renovation that will include updates to the club’s restaurants, fitness center and golf course, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.

The upgrades are the product of a 2015 partnership with design firm Chambers, which created a master plan for the club geared toward families seeking “a more progressive” atmosphere, says Board President Jay Bruno. The plan is designed to revamp all the club’s facilities, the Report reported.

Of the $8.5 million, around $1.5 million will go toward the golf course, Bruno says, as the club continues to update the course with recommendations from the Nicklaus Design group. Aside from upgrades to the course, the renovations also involve updating the clubhouse, five dining options, and tennis and fitness facilities, the Report reported.

“All of our dining areas are going to be completely overhauled and revamped,” says Bruno.

Though he declined to specify how much more current and future members may pay in dues to finance the renovations, Bruno says the club will ask members to pay an “appropriate amount to finance it accordingly.” More than 70% of the club’s members voted in favor of the proposal, he adds.

While club officials did not offer a timeline for completing the renovations, Bruno says construction will begin early next year. The renovations are a “multiphase” project, the Report reported.

The last major overhaul of the Country Club golf course came in 2012, when greens were replaced and bunkers were upgraded. The club has been tweaking the course continuously since, Bruno says. The new renovations will also include improved cart paths, level tee boxes and updates for the driving range and short game practice facilities, the Report reported.
