Members of each club will be able to join the other club for the summer at lower rates, and discounted rates that reflect the partnership are also being offered to new members of each property. “It gives both sets of members [the opportunity] to get the best of both worlds,” said Jeremy Vitkauskas, the country club’s General Manager.
The Country Club of Farmington (Conn.) and the Farmington (Conn.) Field Club are teaming together to offer members of each club the opportunity to join the other this summer at a lower rate, the Hartford Courant reported.
Jeremy Vitkauskas, General Manager of the country club, and David Marshall, General Manager of the Field Club, told the Courant that the partnership makes sense, given what each club offers and their close proximity to each other.
Under the new partnership, members of each club will be able to join the other club for this summer, the Courant reported. Discounted rates are also being offered to new members of each club, with the incentive of also being able to join the other club.
“We were talking about putting the two clubs together [in a way] that made sense for both,” Vitkauskas said. “We have golf here, but they have full tennis and the pools. It gives both sets of members [the opportunity] to get the best of both worlds. Adding extra amenities is important.”
The restaurant inside the country club is also something that members of the Field Club would want to use, Marshall added.
“People like to come out and use the patio and socialize as well,” Marshall told the Courant. “At the Field Club, we don’t have the food. It’s definitely a win-win for both clubs.”
Each club is running a promotion to bring in new members, Vitkauskas told the Courant, with the added incentive of being able to join the other club for this summer at a seasonal rate.
“We have more to offer potential members coming into our clubs, on top of our stand-alone facilities,” Vitkauskas said. “We’re working on the strengths of each facilities. We are offering specials to join the club that gives you the opportunity to join the other club.”
Those strengths include the Field Club’s three pools, six tennis courts, and approximately 5.4 acres of property in a private location.
“It’s its own little hidden gem,” Marshall said. “It’s a nice place for the family and kids to be outside in the summertime. And it would be great for our members to come to the country club and enjoy their time.”
At the country club, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, 18 holes of golf are offered in addition to its restaurant and driving range, the Courant reported.
“Our biggest thing is not having a pool,” Vitkauskas said. “If we have a potential member with a family, they can now have the pool to go to.”
The Field Club is also currently hosting a supplies drive for Our Companions Animal Rescue, the Courant reported, seeking the donation of items like paper towels, disinfecting wipes and cleaning supplies.
“It’s fun for the kids,” Marshall said. “It’s a nice family thing to do, which is what the Field Club is.”
