The private California club is promoting its nonproprietary family memberships, with reduced initiation fees, lower monthly dues and limited commitment, as a last-minute holiday gift option. The less-binding membership alternative is designed to appeal to young professionals whose career paths may take them elsewhere, says General Manager Jason Poindexter.
Cameron Park (Calif.) Country Club is offering “a chance for last-minute shoppers to look like creative geniuses,” The Sacramento Bee reports, by offering the opportunity to buy nonproprietary family memberships at a reduced initiation fee, with lower monthly dues and limited commitment.
Through February, the memberships will be available for $500 with monthly dues of $397, the Bee reports. The offer requires a 14-month commitment, after which the obligation is month to month.
The club has offered a nonproprietary option for three years, Cameron Park’s General Manager Jason Poindexter told the Bee. The idea is to provide a less-binding alternative for young-professionals employed by nearby companies like Intel whose career paths might take them elsewhere.
“Flexibility was the guiding force behind that decision,” Poindexter said.
Cameron Park CC also offers proprietary family memberships for $1,700, with monthly dues of $492, the Bee reports. Proprietary members can serve on the club’s Board and vote on club issues.
Both membership categories get priority tee times.
The dues structure for both types of memberships is set for two years, for those who commit through the end of February, the Bee reports.
