These announcements have been made about new arrangements between club properties and management firms:
- Hiddenbrooke Golf Club, an 18-hole daily-fee facility in Vallejo, Calif., has selected Troon as its new management firm. Hiddenbrooke originally opened in 1995 and features a 6,782-yard, par-72 layout Arnold Palmer Signature golf course that has been recognized as one of the best public courses in California. Set in the rolling hills just north of San Francisco, the Hiddenbrooke course features dramatic elevation changes with numerous elevated tee boxes.
Hiddenbrooke’s award-winning clubhouse includes a Sports Bar and Grille, multiple meeting and banquet spaces and an expansive golf shop. A new banquet space will open this May, further enhancing Hiddenbrooke’s competitive positioning as one of the top wedding and event venues in the region.
“We selected Troon to help us grow and further improve Hiddenbrooke and to bring their proven track record of success to the club,” said Dale Stier, a consultant with Change Course Consulting. “Troon will provide an upgraded golf experience for our guests in terms of service and agronomy standards, help us increase tournament rounds, and further expand and develop our wedding, event and catering business at Hiddenbrooke.”
Hiddenbrooke Golf Club marks Troon’s 20th location in California.
“We are thrilled to be working with Hiddenbrooke Golf Club and look forward to providing a world-class golf experience to Bay area residents and visitors alike,” said Mike Ryan, Troon’s Co-Chief Operating Officer. “We are also happy to expand Troon’s presence in the region and look to make an immediate positive impact on the operations at the club.”

“We’re confident that Billy Casper Golf’s management expertise, marketing capabilities and member-focused values will create a welcoming environment for all who visit The Club at Eaglebrooke,” said Rich Weaver, CDD Board Chairman. “We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”

The Club at Eaglebrooke is a full-service country club located less than an hour’s drive from Orlando and Tampa. Its golf course was designed by architect Ron Garl and opened for play in 1996. Undulating fairways meander along bunkers and scenic lakes to multi-leveled greens, giving the championship golf course a challenging yet approachable appeal. Six sets of tees offer the right challenges for players of all abilities and the course has been designated as one of the “Best Places to Play” for the past nine years.
Eaglebrooke offers golf outings and events, as well as teaching clinics and individual instruction.
- On March 29, the Pensacola News Journal reported, the Gulf Breeze (Fla.) City Council unanimously approved a management services agreement with Honours Golf to operate Tiger Point Golf Club in Breeze, Fla. The new agreement took effect on April 1 and will run through September 2022, with two automatic and consecutive three-year extensions, the News Journal reported.
In late February, the city was notified that current Tiger Point partner Integrity Golf was terminating its contract March 31. The agreement with Honours Golf, a Birmingham, Ala.-based division of Troon, will pay Gulf Breeze $108,000 in annual base fees plus incentives, the News Journal reported.
Noah Berry, a resident of Gulf Breeze at its March 29 meeting and said the city is “going to have to manage this place better, or I don’t think the citizens are going to put up with it,” the News Journal reported.
Carl Bielstein, one of two Honours Golf representatives to appear at the meeting, told the News Journal that change will start with improving the course.
“Overall improvements include having a more weed-free and cleaner golf course,” Bielstein wrote in an e-mail. “Improving the overall health of the turf and playing conditions. Also, initially, improving the general eye appeal and sense of arrival.
“We believe we can be successful by returning the course to some of its previous glory and being efficient in how we operate,” Bielstein wrote.
