During the renovation process, all tee boxes at the Rockwall, Texas club will be leveled to create a more even teeing ground and grassed with new “Latitude” Bermudagrass sod. Existing sand in the bunkers will be removed and replaced with new “Premier White” sand, as well. “We are committed to making Buffalo Creek Golf Club one of the top public courses in the Dallas – Ft. Worth Metroplex and we are excited to unveil these course enhancements later this summer,” says General Manager Brad Dutler.
Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall, Texas announced plans for a three-month course renovation project as the next step in a multi-year $6.5 million facility enhancement plan. The Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish-designed championship course has seen success since the Perry family took over the property only 12 months ago.
C+RB reported on the acquisition at the time and naming KemperSports to manage the property.
The project, which began this month, will deliver newly leveled tee boxes and upgrades to all bunkers throughout the course, enhancing the overall playing experience and delivering outstanding playing conditions. The project will be completed by the end of the summer while the course remains open for golfers.
This course enhancement project reinforces the Perry Family’s vision for the property and commitment to creating an exceptional golf experience for its guests. The Perry Family assumed operational control of the property in June 2020 and immediately made a series of investments and improvements to the property. The family plans several more enhancements and projects in the coming years.
During this renovation process, all tee boxes will be leveled to create a more even teeing ground and grassed with new “Latitude” Bermudagrass sod. Additionally, all existing sand in the bunkers will be removed and replaced with new “Premier White” sand to provide better playability and aesthetics.
These course upgrades follow a series of other capital investments in the last year as part of the Perry family’s vision for the course, including the purchase of new state-of-the-art EZGO RXV golf carts, beverage cart, kitchen equipment, maintenance equipment and irrigation pump station. Additionally, the Pavilion at Buffalo Creek, known as Betty’s Place, was also recently upgraded with new amenities including new furniture, TVs and an extended outdoor area with a new fireplace.
“Our main goal is to continue delivering outstanding course conditions and award-winning customer service that is reminiscent of the original days at Buffalo Creek,” said General Manager Brad Dutler. “We are committed to making Buffalo Creek Golf Club one of the top public courses in the Dallas – Ft. Worth Metroplex and we are excited to unveil these course enhancements later this summer.”
