Braemar Country Club, a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs in Tarzana, Calif., broke ground July 22 on its new 4,600-square-foot fitness facility. The fitness center, slated to open in early 2011, will feature a group exercise studio, premier cardio and strength-training equipment, and training staff. Braemar’s golf and tennis members will receive complimentary access to the fitness center.
In addition to the fitness center, the multi-million-dollar renovation project includes a remodel of the clubhouse’s bar, grill, and dining area including the addition of an outdoor terrace with fire pits, and renovation of the club’s banquet facilities.
Members of the Braemar Board of Governors, along with Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine; Jim Oliver, ClubCorp regional vice president; Bryan Elliott, KSL Capital Partners; Mike Nix, general manager, Mike Rotlo, president of TG Construction, the general contractors for the project; and several other club representatives gathered to break ground on the new fitness center and tour the upstairs dining area for a “before” look at the areas to be renovated.
“We are incredibly excited to celebrate the commencement of these significant improvements to the club,” said General Manager Mike Nix. “Not only will they add an extra value for our members but will further establish Braemar as the heart of the community where families and friends can gather in their home-away-from-home.”
