The instructional and clinic arm of the Michigan resort properties is teaming with meeting and group-event planners to add options that include an evening “glow golf” tournament, fastest-round competitions and “Big Break”-inspired contests.
Boyne Golf Academy, which provides golf instruction and clinics at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, Mich. and Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, Mich., has launched a new lineup of team-building programs as enhancements to the resorts’ meeting and group events. The programs are designed to build camaraderie and a teambuilding spirit and encourage non-golfers to also participate in fun and interactive exercises.
Group planners hosting events at Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain can now add programs such as an evening “glow golf” tournament, group golf clinics, beat-the-pro competitions, and contests including longest drive, putting, and “closest to the inner tube” challenges.
Additional options offered at Boyne Highlands includes a battle among small teams for the fastest round on that property’s “Cuff Links” Par 3 course, as well as a shootout-style challenge and the chance to reenact one of the “flop wall” or glass-breaking challenges from The Golf Channel’s “Big Break” television series. Boyne Highlands served as the host in 2008 for Big Break X: Michigan.
“These programs are a fun way to develop healthy competition and a greater sense of collaboration and trust between co-workers,” said Trisha Olach, Boyne’s Director of Sales, in announcing the new offers.
