Bobby Jones Links Adds Three New Clubs

By Rob Thomas, Editor-in-Chief, Club + Resort Business | June 14, 2019

The Country Club of Indianapolis

The Atlanta-based management company recently added The Country Club of Indianapolis (Ind.), Hidden Valley Country Club in Salem, Va., and Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. to its portfolio. In conjunction with new partner Links Asset Trust, LLC, the new clubs will receive significant capital improvements.

Bobby Jones Links, an Atlanta-based club management company, in partnership with Links Asset Trust, LLC., recently added The Country Club of Indianapolis (Ind.), Hidden Valley Country Club in Salem, Va., and Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. to its portfolio.

With the addition of these three private clubs, Bobby Jones Links has named Links Asset Trust as one of its newest business partners.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bobby Jones Links as the stewards of these three premier country clubs,” said Frank Denniston and Douglas White, founders and operating partners of Links Asset Trust. “These clubs are an excellent start as we develop an expanded portfolio of Links Asset Trust properties. We are very excited to partner with Whitney Crouse, Steve Willy, and the rest of the Bobby Jones Links leadership team to own and operate such quality private club assets.”

The two entities are now making improvements to the Country Club of Indianapolis, Hidden Valley Country Club and Pine Island Country Club, including significant capital improvements to all of the amenities, as well as expanded member activities, enhanced customer service, and substantial staff training.

“We are pleased to have these clubs join the Bobby Jones Links family,” said Whitney Crouse, a founder of Bobby Jones Links. “The addition of Frank Denniston and Douglas White as partners is also an important step forward in growing the Bobby Jones Links’ management portfolio.”

Located in Indianapolis and once host to the U.S. Women’s Open and several LPGA Tour events, the Country Club of Indianapolis first opened its doors in 1891 and serves as one of the oldest operating country clubs in the nation. The golf course was merely a two-hole green until 1914 when golf course designer, Tom Bendelow, completed his nine-hole design. Today, the private club boasts an 18-hole Pete Dye redesigned champion course, open for member play year-round. A $1 million renovation is currently underway to enhance the club and the members lifestyle.

Tucked away in the hillside of the Wasatch Mountains, Hidden Valley Country Club features an 18-hole golf course, practice facilities, six tennis courts, a heated pool, and a 44,000 sq.-ft. modern clubhouse. Links Asset Trust is currently completing a modern clubhouse grill area, wine lockers, outdoor and patio firepits.

Pine Island Country Club sits right off a central Charlotte, N.C. Interstate, allowing members easy access to Carolinas’ rolling hills. The Charles M. Mahannah designed golf course features generous landing areas and bent grass greens in a park-like setting. Pine Island offers a French country-style clubhouse that hosts many weddings and events, a. 1,000 sq.-ft. golf pro shop, a saltwater pool and an extensive member events calendar.
