The engagement increases BCG’s management portfolio to three in North Carolina and 17 in the Mid-Atlantic.
Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has been selected to manage Black Mountain (N.C.) Golf Course in the foothills of western North Carolina and 17 miles east of Asheville.
BCG will oversee all aspects of Black Mountain’s operations, golf course and property maintenance, sales, marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant, financial management and special events.
BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at Black Mountain to conserve, protect and enhance the environment. Black Mountain’s enrollment in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” will increase efficiencies in maintenance, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
Located at the foot of the Black Mountain Range in western North Carolina, Black Mountain Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,215-yard par-71 public layout. Opened in 1929 as a nine-hole course designed by legendary architect Donald Ross, the back nine debuted in 1962.
Guests will check in at the newly renovated golf shop, recently relocated to the building in the lower level of the parking lot, which also contains a variety of golf apparel and equipment. A new restaurant, planned for spring 2012, will serve a wide selection of food and beverages daily.
The engagement increases BCG’s management portfolio to three in North Carolina and 17 in the Mid-Atlantic. In 2011, the company has assumed operation of 15 private, public and resort properties.
