Billy Casper Golf (BCG)—the nation’s fourth largest golf-course owner and operator—will manage, on behalf of a BCG affiliate, the new 1757 Golf Club (formerly The Presidential Golf Club) in the Dulles corridor of Northern Virginia.
As tenant under a long-term ground lease with Beaumeade Dulles 28 Golf Associates, LLC (an affiliate of Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Companies, both of Rockville, Md.), 1757 Golf, LLC has appointed Billy Casper Golf to direct the 1757 Golf Club’s new course construction, maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse operations, golf instruction, marketing and public relations, special events and financial management.
Named after the year Loudoun County was established, the 1757 Golf Club will be open to the public. The driving range—with 76 hitting stations, including 20 on grass and lighted for night play—is scheduled to open in mid-May. PGA instruction will be offered, along with limited clubhouse access.
Nine holes will open for nine- and 18-hole rounds around Memorial Day. The full, 18-hole championship course—designed by architect David Heatwole, formerly with Jack Nicklaus’ design company—is slated for completion and opening in the spring of 2010.
Along with the full, 18-hole course, the 16,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse is also scheduled to open in the spring of 2010. It will include a bar, lounge, boardroom, meeting rooms and banquet space (with combined seating for 250 people), as well as two outdoor patios and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
