Monday, May 12 will be a day of golf, entertainment and auction at the Newport Beach, Calif. club, to help raise funds for its hosting of the U.S. Senior Amateur this fall.
Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif., which will host the 60th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship this September, will hold a Spring Golf Gala on Monday, May 12th, as part of a series of fundraising and awareness-raising opportunities planned by the club this year.
“If you want to play the exclusive Big Canyon Golf Course and support our efforts in bringing this monumental event to Orange County, register today,” said Jack Norberg, Fundraising Chairman of the club’s U.S. Senior Amateur Championship Committee, in announcing the event.
Proceeds from the Gala that exceed the club’s tournament costs will be donated to support the Southern California Golf Association’s Youth on Course program, Norberg noted.
The cost for the Spring Golf Gala ($1,500 per player) includes golf, cart fees, tee prizes, lunch and dinner (for two) prepared by several renowned restaurants in Orange County, including Red O, The Beachcomber, Provenance and The Bungalow.
The club also promoted “some gaming fun on the golf course with LPGA Superstar Natalie Gulbis and an opportunity to win a new Rolls-Royce” as part of the event, in addition to “once-in-a-lifetime auction opportunities [including] golfing excursions to Merion Golf Club, Pine Valley Golf Club, Medinah Country Club and [other venues], plus vacation trips to Maui, La Quinta, and Green Lake, Wisconsin.
As of May 8, the club reported, only a limited number of spots for the Gala remained.
The 60th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship will be held at Big Canyon CC from September 13th through September 18th this year.
