The acquisition of Bernardo Heights Country Club marks the ninth club acquired by ClubCorp in 2015.
“We are excited to add Bernardo Heights—a beautiful facility that offers an outstanding golf experience—to the ClubCorp Network,” said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp President and CEO. “San Diego is a top destination for our many traveling members. With the addition of Bernardo Heights, we now have three premier private golf and country clubs plus a first class business club in the area.”
In addition to Bernardo Heights, ClubCorp’s clubs in San Diego include Morgan Run Club & Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista and University Club atop Symphony Towers in downtown.
“Bernardo Heights members appreciate the value the ClubCorp Network brings, ClubCorp’s knowledge of the industry and their commitment to capital improvements,” said Jim Sahagian, president of the club’s board of directors. “A modernized clubhouse, combined with the renovations on the golf course, will make Bernardo Heights a top-tier country club in the San Diego region. We look forward to this new chapter for the club.”
Bernardo Heights Country Club features an 18-hole, 6,700-yard Ted Robinson-designed golf course overlooking the community of Rancho Bernardo. The Mediterranean-style clubhouse offers both upscale and casual dining, with an expansive patio and views of the 9th hole, pond and waterfall, private dining rooms and elegant private event space that can accommodate up to 130.
