The new Montelucia spa will feature a rounded entryway, 24-foot ceiling and circular staircase. |
Projected to open in June 2008, the InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa, in Paradise Valley, Ariz., will feature a distinct ambience influenced by the architecture and lifestyle of Anda-lusia in southern Spain.
The resort, covering 28 lushly landscaped acres, will feature 292 rooms and suites, 34 luxurious detached, single-family villas, a signature restaurant, and a two-story, 30,000 sq.-ft. spa (see layout below).
Conceived by renowned spa designer Sylvia Sepielli, the spa, where all but two of the 23 treatment rooms will offer natural light, will include 5,200 square feet of outdoor space. Its glass front will offer guests a spectacular view of nearby Camelback Mountain.
