The San Francisco-based “active lifestyle” corporation has expanded its “top-tier amenities” by adding Fairbanks Ranch CC in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. and The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge in San Jose, Calif. to its network.
The Bay Club Company, a San Francisco-based “active lifestyle” corporation, has announced the addition of two new properties to its network: Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge in San Jose, Calif.
The additions, The Bay Club Company said, continue the growth of its “top-tier amenities,” with both of the newly acquired properties complementing current offerings in the Bay Club network and helping to complete the company’s strategy to offer a “four-quadrant playbook”—focused on fitness, sports, hospitality, and family—to create a “modernized lifestyle membership.”
“We’re excited to expand our golf footprint and give our members access to two more preeminent California courses,” said Matthew Stevens, The Bay Club Company’s President and CEO.
“Our plan is to evolve the traditional country club membership into a more modern and flexible offering that suits the needs of today’s dynamic families,” Stevens added. “The Bay Club golf membership model eliminates food-and-beverage minimums and cart fees, and includes complimentary childcare and camp for the families. In addition, we have robust programming ranging from summer concerts, unique fitness classes and exciting sports tournaments.”
Built in 1983 and host to equestrian events in the 1984 Summer Olympics, the 274-acre Fairbanks Ranch Country Club includes a 27-hole golf course, eight tennis courts, and a clubhouse. It is The Bay Club Company’s second property in the San Diego area, along with Bay Club Carmel Valley, located less than five miles south.
“The addition of Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, coupled with the recent significant renovations of Bay Club Carmel Valley, creates an almost unlimited assortment of amenities and signature benefits for our San Diego campus membership,” said Bobbi Quick, an Executive Vice President of Operations for The Bay Club Company.
The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge features an 18-hole golf course, driving range, clubhouse, and events pavilion—and joins Bay Club Courtside, Santa Clara, Santana Row, and Cupertino as the company’s properties in the Silicon Valley region.
“Our goal is to create spaces where the whole family can come to relax, socialize, and play—offering everything from family barbeques with lawn games, to time spent with colleagues and clients on the golf course, to evenings playing bocce with friends followed by wine and cheese beside the fire pits,” said Lisa Graf, also an Executive Vice President of Operations of The Bay Club Company.
The acquisitions come a year after The Bay Club Company announced another expansion in the Silicon Valley region with the addition of Bay Club Santana Row. Now, with Fairbanks Ranch Country Club and Boulder Ridge Country Club, The Bay Club Company operates 20-plus locations across multiple California campuses. The campuses are comprised of multiple properties within an area that feature complementary amenities, to provide members with a collection of offerings beyond what is accessible at any single location. The properties in the campuses include fitness centers, athletic clubs, swim and tennis clubs, and country and golf clubs.
Along with the acquisitions, The Bay Club Company said it will be launching new membership options and hosting open house and specialty program events at both new properties throughout the summer.
The Bay Club Company said that its network of modern country clubs now encompasses more than 86,000 members and that the company currently employs approximately 3,400 people.
