The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. property will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 2 to mark the completion of the project, which has expanded the clubhouse to 115,000 sq. ft. and redesigned it to capture views of the club’s famed East Course. Other highlights include an expanded main dining room, a new and modern upscale restaurant called Evolution, and The BallenIsles Grille, already fondly dubbed “The B.I.G.”
Champagne toasts and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. on Friday, November 2 to mark the completion of a $35 million clubhouse renovation and expansion.
Expanded to 115,000 sq. ft., the clubhouse has been redesigned to capture vistas of BallenIsles’ famed East Course, where Jack Nicklaus and many other golf legends competed for major championships. From the spectacular Grand Lobby with vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows, to the iconic Harry’s Lounge (a tribute to the club’s long-tenured, well-storied PGA Professional Harry Pezzullo), the sweeping architectural changes maximize both indoor and outdoor usage and views.
New dining and social experiences created by the project include an expanded Circle 100 Main Dining Room, a new and modern upscale restaurant called Evolution, and the spectacular addition of The BallenIsles Grille overlooking the 18thgreen of the East Course. Fondly dubbed “The B.I.G,” the venue features a blend of gastropub cuisine and 18 TVs.
The new BallenIsles Clubhouse also includes an expansion of Harry’s Lounge and an additional 9,000 square feet of outdoor verandas for dining, relaxing and spending time with friends on the Grand and Golf Terraces. Other additions include two new kitchens and expansion of the stylish men’s and ladies card rooms, locker rooms and meeting rooms.
In all, BallenIsles will now have six dining venues available to its members by year’s end including Harry’s Lounge, Bistro 105, Circle 100, Evolution,TheBallenIsles Grille (B.I.G) & Rendezvous Room, and the Cabana.
“This renovation expands the club with world-class amenities that redefine scale and style,” said BallenIsles’ General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Ryan Walls. “We have a diverse membership and this new building and its amenities offer something for all.
“[The renovated and expanded clubhouse] is stylish, yet comfortable, providing opportunity for socialization and, importantly, multiple dining opportunities that are highly valued by our members,” Walls added. “Our Board and designers listened to what our members wanted, and delivered on it. This renovation continues our path of reinforcing BallenIsles as a leading country club community, focused on quality and enjoyment for our membership.”
Added Michael Muntner, the President of BallenIsles’ Board of Directors:
“The entire project was built around the very simple idea of providing something special for everyone. This redesign and expansion perfectly complements our state-of-the-art sports complex and spa. And when a project of this complexity and size comes in on time and on budget, it is just icing on the cake for our membership. We are really proud of all who have contributed to the success of this renovation, which we will enjoy for many years to come.”
The ribbon cutting on November 2 will also recognize the work of the project’s professional partners, including Chapman Coyle Chapman & Associate Architects, J. Banks Design Group and Hedrick Brothers Construction, and the club’s professional staff, along with the club’s member volunteers who helped to bring the project to fruition.
BallenIsles also boasts three championship courses with 54 holes of golf and a world-class 22-court tennis complex, complete with an exhibition tennis court and stadium seating. In 2009, BallenIsles opened its $26 million Sports Complex adjacent to the tennis complex.
