The Union League of Philadelphia Shops for New Golf Club
According to a blog in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the club is looking to buy a second golf club, with Wildwood Golf & Country Club in Cape May Court House, N.J., reportedly the frontrunner, though the Union League has “not made any decisions.” The club will also open its Union League Guard House restaurant in Gladwyne, Pa., on March 1.

The Colorado-based company will acquire the Stowe, Vt., resort, adding to the company’s network of 10 resorts and marking its first East Coast property. Vail has no immediate plans for changes at Stowe Mountain, and is expected to retain the property’s year-round staff.

Crenshaw Supports Lions Municipal GC Restoration
Ben Crenshaw, who grew up in Austin, Texas and “incidentally” made his first hole-in-one at the municipal facility, said he wants to see the greens rebuilt, with more bunkers and trees added to the layout. The cost of restoring the course is estimated to be $10-12 million, and Crenshaw said he is convinced the funds could be raised privately.

The 18-hole golf course in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking approval from the Indian Hill Planning Commission to renovate its existing practice range facility by adding a new cart path and new putting green, to relocate the short game range, and to build an 1,800-sq. ft. golf instruction building with four bays.
Reunion G&CC to Build New Clubhouse, Expand Fitness Center
The project at the Madison, Miss., property is expected to be complete by November. The new 30,000-sq. ft. clubhouse will include deck space, fine dining, banquet space, a board room, locker rooms and a new golf shop, while the fitness center will double its square footage to make room for additional machines and classes.
