The $5 million renovation project began in September 2020 and addressed many areas of the facility, including dining, retail, event space and deferred maintenance. The H. Chambers Company of Baltimore, Md. oversaw the three-phase project. “We look forward to an early course opening and an exciting 2023 season as well as fabulous dining, social and special event programming for the entire family,” says General Manager William Budion.
Austin (Minn.) Country Club recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of its clubhouse renovation project. Ceremony attendees included Austin Chamber of Commerce leadership and ambassadors, as well as club members, associates, and its Board of Directors.
The H. Chambers Company of Baltimore, Md. oversaw the three-phase project, while the Joseph Company of Austin, Minn. completed the renovations.
The $5 million clubhouse renovation project began in September 2020 and addressed many areas of the facility, including dining, retail, event space and deferred maintenance. The newly renovated facilities feature modern colors and décor where members can come relax and enjoy their home away from home.
The club’s new restaurant and bar named “Bunkers” has a casual/modern feel and includes a state-of-the-art golf simulator and lounge area adjacent to the space. The HD Golf Simulator hosts leagues, challenges as well as provides for practice or lessons on a year-round basis.
During the project, crews completed a full refresh of the club’s golf shop, as well. The renovation also enhanced the event space for hosting up to 300 guests for weddings, receptions, class reunions, meetings, seminars, lunches, and dinners to anyone in the surrounding area.
The clubhouse renovation comes on the heels of a new swimming pool complex, completed in 2021, that includes a water slide, a zero-entry pool, kid-friendly water features and locker rooms. The complex also has a new cabana bar and kitchen with poolside seating, serving members refreshing beverages and a delicious menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and family favorites.
“Members are really enjoying the new clubhouse and the golf simulator,” said Austin Country Club General Manager William Budion. “We look forward to an early course opening and an exciting 2023 season as well as fabulous dining, social and special event programming for the entire family.”
The recent clubhouse renovations are the first significant enhancements to the 30-plus year-old facility since a devastating fire in the late 1980s.
