For only the second time in the 25 years of Golf Digest’s biennial ranking, there is a new No. 1 golf course in the country. Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. has taken over the top honors on the magazine’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
A course must be two years old to be considered for America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses and at least a year old for any other ranking. Eight courses not in the previous ranking made the 2009-2010 list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses:
• No. 27 – The Club at Black Rock, Coeur d’Alene, Ind.
• No. 39 – Sebonack Golf Club, Southampton, N.Y.
• No. 42 – Canyata Golf Club, Marshall, Ill.
• No. 68 – Stone Canyon Club, Oro Valley, Ariz.
• No. 76 – Aronimink Golf Club, Newtown Square, Pa.
• No. 80 – Bandon Trails, Bandon, Ore.
• No. 83 – Eagle Point Golf Club, Wilmington, N.C.
• No. 100 – Crooked Stick Golf Club, Carmel, Ind.
