Despite Hurricane Irene and droughts in Texas, Golf Playable Hours for August were basically flat compared to year ago.
Given that weather was in the headlines for large portions of the country nearly constantly during August, the net impact for Golf Playable Hours for the entire month was basically flat compared to a year ago, says a report by Pellucid Corp., a Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based consulting firm.
Looking back on July rounds demand as reported by Golf Datatech/NGF, July registered basically flat, as well. Therefore, the Year-to-Date (YtD) utilization also held steady at 53%, which is even with the 2010 year-end value of 53%.
Seattle and Dallas are among the YtD market utilization “winners,” while the “biggest loser” is Atlanta.
